JUDGE RON CABLE was elected to the Akron Municipal Court bench effective December 11, 2017. Judge Cable
served as a magistrate at the Summit County Juvenile Court before being elected judge.
Prior to serving in the Juvenile Division, Judge Cable served as the Chief Magistrate of the Summit
County Domestic Relations Court. Judge Cable has additional experience working for Legal Aid and as an attorney in private
Judge Cable graduated from the University of Akron with a B.A. in Political Science and from the
University of Akron School of Law with a Juris Doctor. Judge Cable also studied at the Capital University School of Law.
In addition to his work as a magistrate, Judge Cable was involved as a mediator and presenter in the
Domestic Relations Courtís programs that promote conflict resolution. Judge Cable also founded the therapy dog program at
the Domestic Relations Court.
Judge Cable also worked as a case manager where he assisted inmates from the federal prison system
with reestablishing their family relationships and with gaining employment upon their release. Judge Cable also worked
in the juvenile correction system.
Judge Cable has served on various boards and committees including Akron Summit Community Action,
Autism Society of America, Greater Akron Chapter, University of Akron Learning Commons Task Force, The University of
Akron Friends of the Library, Akron Bar Association Family Law Section Officer and the Summit County Fatherhood
Judge Cable is a member of the Ohio Judicial Conference, the Ohio Bar Association, the Akron Bar
Association and is a fellow of the Akron Bar Foundation. Judge Cable is a resident of Akron, Ohio where he lives with
his wife and three children.
